We were recently invited to the Kingsbridge Private Hospital to accept the donation of £20,000 from the Kingsbridge Charitable Foundation. We asked our volunteer, Lorraine to join us to share with the Kingsbridge team a little bit about what it means to be a Rosie’s Trust volunteer. We also used the opportunity to ask her a few questions…
How long you been a Rosie’s Trust volunteer?
I have been volunteering with Rosie’s Trust for 7 months.
What motivated you to volunteer for Rosie’s Trust?
My dog sadly passed away over a year ago and I wasn’t ready to get another dog.
I decided to try doing volunteer work to help take my mind off the loss, so I looked and the first charity that came up was Rosie’s Trust. I thought it was just perfect as I’ve a great love for animals.
What volunteer role(s) do you do?
I am a Volunteer Ambassador and a Dog Support Volunteer.
If you do more than one which is your favourite role?
I enjoy them both, but my favourite is Dog Support, getting to support and know the wonderful dogs.
Tell us a fun fact or something interesting about yourself…
Family and friends know how much I love dogs and they organised me a Scooby Doo birthday party where I dressed up as Scooby Doo and family and friends dressed as the other characters from cartoon.
Cats or Dogs?
Dogs would definitely be my favourite as they’re so affectionate and loyal.
