The Lindsay Chorale, led by Musical Director Keith Acheson, hosted an evening of song to raise funds to help people facing terminal illness and difficult times keep their pets by their side.
Welcoming over 200 guests to Parliament Buildings, The Lindsay Chorale performed a medley of well-known songs – and the audience was treated to a special guest appearance by The Priests.
Throughout the evening of celebration hosted by broadcaster, Julian Simmons, the vital work performed by Rosie’s Trust was described by Lisa McGee, writer of Channel 4’s Derry Girls, and Q Radio presenter, Ibe Sesay, both of whom are ambassadors of the charity.
With Rosie’s Trust set to mark its tenth anniversary next month, it is the only charity in Northern Ireland caring for both people and their companion pets. All funds raised go directly to ensuring over 50 beneficiaries, and their pets, are supported through cancer treatment, older age and end-of-life treatment, 365 days a year.
Chair of Rosie’s Trust, and The Lindsay Chorale member, Aileen Martin, said:
“Thank you to our guests, performers and ambassadors for a truly magical evening hosted by Nick Mathison MLA in the majestic Great Hall of Parliament Buildings.
“We are so grateful for everyone’s generous support of Rosie’s Trust. Our charity provides a lifeline to some of the most vulnerable people in our community, and our work would not be possible without this kindness and generosity.
“The festive season can be a particularly challenging time for many people, but through the music, talent and friendship of The Lindsay Chorale, we hope to bring some joy at this time of year.”
